Support Fund for Ukrainian Students and Researchers

2022.05.13

Request for supporting the "Support Fund for Ukrainian Students and Researchers" of Kyushu University

The invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, which began on 24 February 2022, is an outrageous attempt to change a situation by force and is unacceptable under international law and from a humanitarian perspective. We are deeply concerned about this situation and strongly urge an immediate ceasefire and sincerely hope that a peaceful solution will be reached.

In view of these circumstances, we, Kyushu University, have discussed and decided on the following supports. Accepting students and researchers from universities or academic institutions in Ukraine who have difficulty continuing their studies and research under the circumstances and providing them with a secure environment for study and research as well as financial support.

The Admissions Support Desk, located in the International Affairs Department, serves as a contact point and provides information to applicants on the Kyushu University website. Specifically, the desk will provide support in matching faculty members with students and researchers, accepting them and offering other necessary support.

Therefore, in order to respond swiftly and decisively to these efforts, the "Support Fund for Ukrainian Students and Researchers" has been established within the Kyushu University Fund. We are asking for full support from the university's faculty, staff and alumni, as well as from all those involved in Kyushu University. Please support us in our efforts to help as many Ukrainian students and researchers as possible who are facing threat. We will most definitely use your warm support in the most effective way. Thank you very much.
